Florida has entered into Mutual Recognition agreements with:
Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nebraska, Rhode Island, and West Virginia
Qualified residents from these states, having met the education and examination requirements of that state as opposed to receiving the license through reciprocity with another state, may obtain a Florida real estate license by passing a 90-minute 40-question examination. All students should verify with the Florida DBPR that they are eligible for mutual recognition. The exam tests knowledge of Florida real estate license law, statutes and administrative rules. The exam is the same for salespersons and brokers. A score of 75%, or at least 30 out of 40 questions correct is required to pass.
Mutual Recognition rules apply only to individuals who are NOT Florida residents as defined by Florida Statute 475.
Although there is no requirement that an applicant must attend a course for this exam, we suggest the Florida Real Estate Law Exam Prep Online Course.
